#1. Check Cables Connection

The most common step you should take when your Skytech gaming PC isn’t turning on is checking the wired connection.

If one of the power or display cords is loose/ or not plugged securely, you cannot turn your device on.

So, you should look closely at the power cable and power strip if you are using it. Ensure the power strip is securely plugged into the wall outlet and the power switch is on.

You can reset the power connection by unplugging the system and monitor from the power outlet. Then firmly plugging back in the power cables.

#2. Change Input Settings

If your computer is getting power, you can check from the LED with the power button, but it is showing nothing on the monitor. It can be a common issue when your monitor input isn’t customized correctly.

So, you should have selected the correct input on the monitor that displays the source you are using, such as HDMI, VGA, or DVI ports.

Most computers have an input button. If not, the menu button can work. Press the menu button and select the input source like; HDMI1, HDMI2, or VGA port.

#3. Change Power Source

A power source is a basic and essential component in turning on your PC because your computer will not turn on if the outlet is faulty or not providing sufficient current.

So, firstly you should check that the power outlet is usually working. You can use a lamp or other electronic device to check it.

Plug the lamp securely into the power outlet; if it lights up, your outlet is not the reason for your computer malfunctioning.

You can also use another power source at your home/ office to check your computer if it powers on.

#4. Replace Power Cable

Over time the power cables can lose or be damaged. A faulty power cable can be a possible reason for your Skytech PC not turning on issue.

So, you should first ensure the power cable is securely connected to the system and the socket.

Insert the power cord all the way into the port and plug the adapter to the wall outlet. If the computer doesn’t boot up, should inspect the cable carefully to find any signs of damage.

Most of the monitors and systems use the same power cables; you can swap your PC power cables.

You can also test the cord by inserting it into the other compatible device and checking if it turns the device on.

However, if you’ve tried several methods and suspected the power cable is faulty, you should replace it with a new one.

#5. CMOS Reset

The CMOS battery helps to power your computer BIOS firmware which is responsible for booting up the PC.

If the CMOS battery is dead or not working properly, you can face issues in turning on your computer.

Also, if your drivers disappear or the date or time is incorrect, you can tell that your CMOS batteries are dead.

So, you should perform a CMOS reset to resolve the issue:

1. Turn off the system and your monitor.

2. Unplug the power cables and disconnect all connected devices.

3. Remove the system side panel to access the internal parts.

4. Find the coin cell on the motherboard and remove it.

5. Wait for about 1-5 minutes.

6. Put the computer cover back on.

7. Plug all devices and power cords back in.

Turn on your computer and check if it turns on successfully. However, if you still face problems, you should try cleaning the battery.

Lastly, if the battery cleaning doesn’t help, you should replace it with a new one. A new battery should turn on your PC.

#6. Connect to the GPU

If you have an integrated graphics card and you are using the HDMI port from your motherboard, you might experience this issue if your PC won’t turn on.

So, you should unplug the cable from your motherboard and then insert it into the GPU HDMI port.

Most of the GPUs have at least one HDMI and two Display Ports. You can connect the system to the monitor with other input ports, like a DP.

#7. Check the RAM Stick

RAMs provide short-term memory that the CPU uses in opening files and moving data around as it responds to tasks given by the apps.

So, a faulty/ dirty RAM stick might prevent the PC from turning on and cause various other issues.

If your system turns on and shows a red LED indicator light or beep, it is most likely a faulty RAM issue.

You should open the system side panel and remove the RAM sticks carefully. And then, check the connectors carefully for any visible damage.

Also, you should clean the RAM stick with a lint-free cloth or use rubbing alcohol and gently remove dirt from it.

And then, clean the RAM slot on the motherboard using a clean brush. Insert one RAM stick into the slot and plug the computer back to turn it on.

Check the PC to see if it is now turning on; you should repeat the process until you find the problem.

Power off the PC and insert the other RAMs one by one, and check the computer by turning it on.

If you find a faulty RAM stick, you should clean it and then try again in another RAM slot to check if it resolves the problem.

However, if the computer doesn’t turn on using that particular RAM, you should replace it with a new one or take it to an expert.

#8. Contact Customer Service

If you’ve tried all the provided methods, but the computer isn’t turning on, you should contact the Skytech customer support team.

The support team will be able to provide you with other possible solutions and get the PC working back usually.
