iBuyPower PC Factory Reset (Step-by-Step Guide)

I recently bought a new iBuyPower PC and was eager to use it. I soon realized, however, that I needed to do a factory reset before I could begin.

This required me to go through several steps to completely reset the computer’s original settings.

So, I decided to research online, and after a few hours, I was able to perform the factory reset on my PC successfully.

In this article, I’ll show you how you can perform a factory reset on your iBuypower PC and get it returned back to factory default settings.

Let’s get started!

How to Factory Reset iBuypower PC

You can reset your iBuypower PC to the factory default setting by following the steps below:

1. Back-Up Data

Performing a factory reset will wipe out data from the computer, which you might not recover or access again.

So, before resetting the computer, you should back up your data and essential files from the device.

Here is how you can backup your computer data:

  1. Select “Start” or press the Windows key from the keyboard.
  2. And then tap the Settings/ Gear icon.
  3. Go to Update & Security > click on Backup.
  4. Tap on the “Add A Drive” or “+” icon.
  5. Then choose an external drive or location to backup data.

2. From Built-in Option

This method is helpful when you can log into your PC and have access to all the features. So, you can use the computer’s in-built options to reset it.

In order to reset the PC, you should turn it on and then log into your account. Then follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Tap the Start or the Windows key from the keyboard.
  2. Click on the Settings/ Gear icon.
  3. Then select Updates & Security
  4. Next, go to the Recovery option.
  5. Under recovery settings, tap on “Get Started” next to Reset this PC.
  6. Now you’ll see two options:
  • Keep my files
  • Remove everything
  1. Then follow the on-screen instructions and wait until the process finishes.

Once you’ve restored your computer to factory default settings, you can install Windows and use it correctly.

3. Reinstall Window Manually

If you don’t have access to your computer’s in-built options or you are having issues logging in to the device, you can use the manual window reinstalling method to reset the computer.

You’ll need to install Windows on your PC using installation media in this method. It will help you to keep data and refresh your device.

In order to install Windows using the installation media, you’ll need to create a bootable USB drive. Here is how you can do this:

  1. Connect a flash drive to your PC (it should be at least 8 GB).
  2. Then you should visit the Microsoft download centre
  3. Under the Create window installation media option, click on “Download” and save it to your PC.
  4. Next, run the MediacreationtoolW11.exe file and click yes if prompted by UAC. The tool will take a few seconds to launch; wait until the setup wizard.
  5. Then click Accept to agree the terms.
  6. Select your language > choose options and click Next
  7. In choosing which media to use, select the flash drive.
  8. Click Next > Select your USB flash drive from the list.
  9. Click Next to continue > and tap Finish

Once you’ve ready your bootable USB flash drive, you should insert it into your iBuypower PC and then boot from the removable device.

Follow the steps below to install the window:

  1. Connect the bootable flash drive to the computer and power on the computer.
  2. Select the boot option as the USB flash drive > computer will enter window setup mode.
  3. Select your language, currency, time format, keyboard or input options.
  4. Then click on Install Now > Next select “I don’t have a product key.”
  5. Next, the window will be automatically activated once the installation is completed.
  6. And then, follow the on-screen instructions and finish the process.

4. Reset From Boot

In the end, if you are unable to reset your computer using the other methods listed in the article, you can use the boot menu option to reset your computer.

This method helps you to reset your PC if you cannot get into the window normally or log into your account.

Here is how you can do this:

  1. Switch on your computer and wait until you go to the window login screen.
  2. Then hold down the “Shift” key from the keyboard and click Restart.
  3. Next, choose the “Troubleshoot” option from the boot menu.
  4. Click on Reset this PC > You’ll see two options:
  • Keep my files
  • Remove everything
  1. Select one of the options, and the PC screen will go black for a while.
  2. You’ll again receive two options on your screen:
  • Just remove my files
  • Fully clean the drive
  1. Select one of the options, and tap on Reset.

After this, your PC will start resetting back to its factory default settings, and it will take about 5-10 minutes to finish the process.
